Revived Words
These are old words revived into my common use.
- hight
- To have the name of, to be called: eg I hight Wendy, or
This hight a polytope.
- rath
- With great speed.
Quick means lively
Fast means held in one place (fastner), the sense comes from fast
on one's tail.
Words with slightly altered meanings.
- around
-
In the polygloss, this always means perpendicular to. When one dances
around the maypole, one dances in the space where the maypole appears as a
point.
We also talk of arroundings. See entry in the rounds.
- surround
-
This is always solid in the plane of the thing. When one is surrounded,
then all of the means of exit are covered: because of gravity, this might
be only a 2D closure.
