NewAge: Home About Michel

John Michel suggested that the ancient linear measures were derived from local geodetic surveys, and that the units existed in forms.
The units in this table is in BI feet. Michel used BI feet in his books.

Neither Michel nor Neal proposed the Northern scale, although it is well attested in the histrical records.

According to Neal the metre is 11*1.2**7 inches, or 39.414 988 800 inch.

The megalithic foot is taken as 192/175 = 1.097 142 857 142 ft, the yard (as a pace) is then 2.742 857 142 857 ft, or 836 m/m. The published values for it is 829 m/m. Even allowing for Neal's metre of 39.415 inches, this makes only for 835 m/m.
A better approximate would be to take 19/7 BI feet, that a nautical mile is 2240 paces, or 5600 megalithic feet. The matching mrinal would become 8400 such feet, (twe: 7000).
